No one with a own hunting ground in Germany wants wild hogs in his area, because they cause verry mutch damage and as the huntig ground owner you are responsible ($) for the damages (devastated fields, harvest loss, etc.).
So if i ever would find them in my huntig ground, i would hold a Treibjagd to get rid of this pest. There is still no wanted population in Germany outside a fenced farm.
Its a Treibjagd (Driven hunt) witch is usual in Germany. The drivers drive the animals in a definated direction by making noises, etc. The hunters are place at the points were the animals are passing. To also secure that the bullet takes no long flight, the hunter are often on a perch. So the bullet goes into the earth if it dont hit the target. At the end you dident exactly knew witch directions the animnals take, so your shoot should also hit on a bit longer distance.
By my opinion, a boarhunt should look less like a wild west coyboy movie and more like a professional exercise in pest control. Why only one shooter for so many hogs? Why is positioned so far away? Why no suppressor?
Also, this is a side issue I know, but the German government has pionered the use of contraceptives for use with wild hogs – it’s placed in bait and has proved highly effective at controlling population numbers. There really shouldn’t be such a need to kill them on this scale?

You shoot on the shoulder blade, and that hit normaly kills the hog instantly or in a few seconds. In German this is called Blattschuss (Shoulderblade shoot) and the standart in Hunter education.
